Qubbat al-Waḥy(Arabic: قبة الوحی, Dome of Revelation) was a room in Lady Khadija's house in Mecca, which is said to have been the place of worship of the Prophet(s) and part of the verse of the Quran were revealed to him in this place. This place, which was a part of Lady Khadija's house, has disappeared today and is located in the area of al-Masjid al-Haram.

Lady Khadija's House

The Lady Khadija's house, in Mecca, was the same house where the Prophet Muhammad(s) lived after marrying Lady Khadija(a) until he migrated to Medina. This house has disappeared today and it is inside the al-Masjid al-Haram.

Dome of Revelation

The building known as Khadija's house in Mecca had two domes in the descriptions that survived from the 6th/12th onwards. One was a larger dome called the Qubbat al-Wahy (Dome of Revelation), which was the place where the Prophet(s) used to worship, and the place where Gabriel descended upon the Prophet(s), and the other was a small dome, where Lady Fatima(a) was born (Mawlid Fatima).[1] Other sources until the 14th/20th century have continued to talk about the existence of the Dome of Revelation or the Prophet's place of worship in Lady Khadija's house.[2] Al-Batanuni, who went to hajj in 1327/1909, described the Prophet's place of worship as a three by three meters room.[3]
